The contents of this CD can be found in the CDcontents document. The data summary provides a brief overview of the data.

The REPORTS subdirectory contains the executive summary and final report written by Mathematica Policy Research, Inc.

The DATA subdirectory contains the data, contents, and variable means and frequencies for the jsapubfl (Florida) and jsapubdc (District of Columbia) datasets. These data sets can be found in comma-delimited ASCII format (.dat files) in the DATA subdirectory, along with the file layouts, contents, means and frequencies. The survey instrument is also included.

The file layouts for Florida and the District of Columbia datasets are named jsapubfl_layout.txt and jsapubdc_layout.txt respectively, and can be opened using any word processing software. Please note that this file layout was created for the PC version of SAS and will need to be modified for use in other systems. The contents, means, and frequencies for the Florida dataset can be found in the document jsapubfl_lst, while the jsapubdc_lst document contains the same information for the District of Columbia dataset. Both files were created by Mathematica Policy Research, Inc. and converted to the pdf format by the Upjohn Institute.

In addition to the ASCII format of the data described above, the Upjohn Institute has formatted the data into Stata version 6.0 and SAS export/transport files, which can be found in the “Upjohn Institute Created Files” folder within the DATA subdirectory. For those using the SAS export/transport files, the file Import.sas in the same folder contains a sample program to import the SAS export/transport file into the user’s SAS system.

The IMAGES subdirectory contains the header image used in this file. This directory does not contain any information about the demonstration itself.
